I recently went on Blue Fern Travel's U Street Jazzed Up Cocktail Tour. I'm local to the area, but I learned so much about D.C. Black history and U Street, commonly referred to as Black Broadway. This is a great way to get off the Mall and immerse yourself in local history and culture. It was about a mile in walking through Ledroit Park, Shaw and U Street, and we made stops at some Michelin Guide- recognized restaurants for cocktails and meals. You definitely leave the tour full. If you are looking to spend some great 3-hours, learn history while sipping some delicious local coctails and bites, look no further than the FIZZ tour by Blue Fern! We did 3 stops, explored all the landmarks of U Street, tasted some STRONG drinks and munched on some appetizers in each location. At the end of the tour, everyone became best friends :)! The tour guides were very knowledgeable about Black history, jazz and DC history as a whole. I learned something new at each spot! Even though I walked those streets before, I have not walked them with actually knowing where I was walking. My highlight was St James for sure!
